Kevin Taylor, seorang pria sehat yang karena kecelakaan menyebabkan kaki kanannya harus diamputasi, karena ditemukan “Reflective Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD)”, yaitu gangguan langka yang simpatik sistem saraf yang ditandai dengan kronis, sakit parah.
Namun, hal itu tidak membuat Kevin putus asa. Ia memiliki sikap optimis dalam mengahadapi segala masalah dalam hidup, ia juga rutin melakukan perawatan ke rumah sakit. Ia bahkan menjalaninya dengan bahagia, malah seluruh anggota keluarganya yang lebih terlihat sedih.
Karena kepribadian Kevin yang positif dan optimis, ia akhirnya berhasil menemukan cinta sejatinya. Pada tahun 2012, Kevin berkenalan dengan seorang wanita yang bernama Kim Didway. Begitu Kevin melihat Kim, ia langsung jatuh cinta pada pandangan pertama dan ia merasa Kim adalah wanita yang tepat untuknya.
Begitu juga yang dirasakan oleh Kim. Kim melihat Kevin menggeser kursi rodanya, mengeluarkan senyum bahagia di wajahnya dan seketika itu ada energi yang muncul, “Ia adalah pangeran yang aku tunggu-tunggu”, kata Kim.
Kim tidak melihat adanya perbedaan antara Kevin dan orang biasanya. Kim melihat kebaikan, ketulusan dan sikap optimis dari Kevin, dan membuat Kim merasa tertarik untuk mengenalnya lebih jauh.
Setelah menjalani hubungan beberapa, mereka akhirnya memutuskan untuk menikah. Siapa sangka ketika hari pernikahannya, Kevin memberikan “kejutan istimewa”!
Ketika pendeta mengajak para hadirin untuk berdiri, Kevin yang sudah menggunakan kursi roda selama 14 tahun juga ikut berdiri dan berjalan ke arah mempelai wanitanya.
Ternyata, Kevin ingin memberikan hadiah pernikahan yang tak terlupakan kepada Kim. Sebelum hari pernikahan, Kevin semakin rutin menjalani terapi dan tidak peduli seberapa sakit, ia terus maju dan tidak menyerah. Tujuannya satu, yaitu berdiri di acara pesta pernikahannnya dan menjadi seorang pria yang sempurna di mata Kim.
Semua ini adalah karena kekuatan cinta Kevin kepada Kim. Semua orang yang datang di hari pernikahannya, merasa terharu dan salut dengan perjuangan Kevin.
